INTRODUCTION
I. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Between 2019 and 2020, there were a out 2,700 cases of assassinations or attempts of assassinations across the glo e [Kaysser and Oliveira]. With these assassinations, research suggests that particular categories of people are more prone to e assassinated than others [Kaysser and Oliveira]. People from the politics and governance sector are considered to e one of the most to e in danger, specifically, in countries from the Americas they rank third targeted group, in Europe, they rank second targeted group, and in Africa and Asia, they rank first [Kaysser and Oliveira]. While an assassination of a local mayor or a politician directly affects only the local community, the assassination of such a high-ranking official as a leader of a country-whether it e a president or a prime minister-affects the whole country: the country's citizens as well as its development. In addition, political assassinations often lead to periods of political and economic unrest, with large-scale protests and civil riots in the wake of these deaths. Moreover, political assassinations are designed to create fear and panic in society and weaken the state y targeting prominent individuals [Shaw and Thomas].
The killing of a political leader can provoke a strong emotional reaction from the pu lic, cause a reakdown of confidence in the government, and lead to social distur ance, entailing further violence and tumult [Iq al and Zorn; Kaysser and Oliveira]. Specifically, Iq al and Zorn suggested that the rapid demise of a head of state or a leader of a government is generally considered to have an impact on the political performance of the state, it spreads panic and facilitates a lack of trust in the government while desta ilizing the leader's domestic and international policy goals [Iq al and Zorn]. In other words, the impact of political assassinations can e devastating to society, as the killing of a significant political figure can create immense fear and uncertainty, as citizens worry a out their personal safety, the future of their country, and their place in it [Iq al and Zorn, p. 385-386].
Since an assassination of a political leader will often undermine a nation, it is considered essential to e aware of the potential causes that can provoke
